Interior drain tile, sump basins, and vapor barrier wall systems installed by technicians who've done this hundreds of times in Galien, MI basements.
We've seen enough Galien, MI basements to know that a wet spot in one corner rarely tells the whole story. Before we recommend drain tile or a sump upgrade, we trace the water back to where it's actually entering, not just where you noticed it.
Every technician carries full state licensing and liability coverage before they ever step into your basement.
Our Galien, MI crews are staffed locally, so a wet basement call doesn't sit in a national queue for a week.
No hourly billing and no change orders once your basement floor is already open.
We use pin-type moisture meters and a flashlight-and-crowbar inspection to trace water back to its real entry point.
Every Galien, MI Basement Waterproofing job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
The core fix for most Galien, MI basements: a perimeter drain cut into the slab edge, tied to a sump basin, that intercepts water before it reaches the floor.
Battery backup is available for any sump system, so a power outage during a storm doesn't undo the whole fix.
The cove joint where the floor meets the foundation wall is one of the most common Galien, MI leak points, and we seal it as part of every interior system.
A dimpled plastic membrane behind any finished basement wall channels residual moisture down to the drain tile instead of trapping it behind drywall.
Poor window well drainage is one of the most overlooked Galien, MI basement leak sources, and it's often the cheapest fix on the list.
A quick phone conversation lets us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip.
We also check exterior grading and downspouts, since a lot of basement leaks start outside, not inside.
You'll see drain tile footage, sump specs, and labor broken out separately, not one vague lump-sum number.
You'll get warranty paperwork and a walkthrough of how the system works so you know what to expect going forward.
"Our finished basement started smelling musty and we finally found a wet spot behind the drywall. They cut open the cove joint, ran drain tile, and it's been dry for over a year."
— Galien Homeowner
"Sump basin was undersized from the last owner's DIY job. They resized it and we haven't had a drop since."
— Galien Customer
"They walked us through exactly why the water was coming in before quoting anything, which no one else had bothered to do."
— Galien Homeowner
"Installed a battery backup sump pump for us right before a big storm season — glad we did it when we did."
— Galien Customer
Cost depends on linear footage, sump basin size, and whether cove joint sealing is included — we won't give a number without an in-person inspection.
We keep the cut as narrow as possible and clean up debris before leaving the site.
Most residential interior drain tile and sump installations finish in one to three days depending on basement size.
If the crack is actively weeping or part of a larger drainage issue, we'll recommend a full system instead of a spot fix.
Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of the water intrusion — we can document conditions for a claim, but approval is up to your insurer.
Warranty terms are often transferable if you sell the property later.
